Project Green is the Amazon Web Services data center campus proposed just north of Interstate 70 in Montgomery County, between New Florence and High Hill, on roughly 1,000 acres. NorthPoint Development is the developer; Amazon is the end user. It forms the northern half of the roughly 1,900-acre 'Mega Site' shared with Google's Project Spade across the highway. The county has approved the land, and Amazon has projected the project could generate between 401 million and 1.8 billion dollars in tax revenue over 25 years. The development has drawn organized opposition. The group Preserve Montgomery County sued the county over public-notice and process concerns and has questioned the strain on local water and electricity supply. Reported building area ranges widely in early documents, from about 880,000 up to roughly 3.74 million square feet, and is not yet locked to a final plan.
