The short version
We set no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking identifiers, and we never sell data. Our analytics run cookieless by default — counting page views without storing anything on your device or identifying you. The onlyoptional item is a single first-party cookie that lets us recognize a return visit; under EU ePrivacy/GDPR that's the one thing that needs consent, so we ask once in a small banner and default to off. Decline (or send Global Privacy Control / Do Not Track) and everything stays cookieless.
What your browser actually stores
The strictly-necessary, functional items below — each either lives on your own device or is required to serve the page securely — plus one optional analytics ID that is set only if you consent. None of them track you across other websites.

Turning them off
The return-visit analytics ID is off until you choose “Allow” in the banner, and you can revoke it any time by clearing site storage in your browser — analytics simply drop back to cookieless. The remaining items don't profile you; you can clear or block all site storage too, the only cost being that the site forgets your dark/light preference between visits.
Third parties
Our analytics come from Vercel Web Analytics (cookieless page counts) and PostHog (product analytics, US-hosted, routed through our own domain so no third-party origin is contacted — cookieless unless you consent). When you load a map, your browser fetches tiles directly from OpenFreeMap, and the address tool sends what you type to Mapbox for geocoding. These are functional requests, not advertising trackers. Every external service we use, and exactly what it sees, is listed in the privacy policy.
